parallels 6 upgrade now computer don’t work^{8}

amazing ( that freak’n amazing i’m letting spelling errors creep in ) today i feel that i’ve spent 8 hours trying to get a downloaded program to work as required. it’s not that i’m trying to be clever, that’s a given normally, but this time, it’s a simple install and then another sub install, all done before and it worked perfectly.

today, i succumb to a marketing piece that presents an offer to upgrade to the latest version, it cost $66.00 ( aus ) but still i figure it’ll make the imac run better, whilst allowing me to continue to use a suite of programs that are windows only ( that in itself is a pain in the arse !! ). any-who, the bloody thing won’t install properly and i find when i go looking, that i’m not alone, the perfunctory bullshit company seems to be using idiot upgrade customers like me, as guinea pigs – testing on fools who’ll only complain for a little while, then they’ll sort out their problems, when they get to it, and then the download bugs will be all fixed … shit – that really sucks.

you most likely won’t be able to see the details, as you’re required to register .. but here’s a sample, it goes on for pages.

Trying (with not very much hope) to follow KB 8689 http://kb.parallels.com/en/8969.
1. Uninstalling Parallels tools. Well, it did not show in “Add/Remove Programs”, so next step
2. Tried (yet again) to install Parallels tools, no good.
3. Uninstall Antivirus program. Mine was Kaspersky (bought alongside Parallels). Oddly there was 2 Kaspersky antivirus entries on “Add/Remove”. Uninstalled. Rebooted.
4. A boot load of “Found new hardware” screens. Cancel everyone. End up in VGA…
5. Installed Parallels tools and… it installs!
6. Working now. O.o???

i’ve tried all sorts of things, to no avail – so here’s is my input from the forum !!!

hi there, if i understand the situation correctly, i’ve responded to marketing, paid $66 aus dollars, downloaded the upgrade, installed it and now can’t install the tools - i.e it they don’t work !!!! Spent – no wasted, at least 3 hours of my time so far .. and it won’t communicate with the psf drive, it won’t install, it doesn’t work at all. Is there any news on how a fix can be provided, or can someone please offer a solution that does work. thanks alan

maybe i should add, i’ve gone from 5 to 6 and have the latest os on a new imac – oh and it’s white !!!!!

bugger the whole thing, i’m off to sulk, my computer don’t work right and i’m being frustrated in my endeavours.
