on call i request no noise{0}

it’s new day , it’s a new way .. it’s my turn for our active on call – save the community, the public, the environment and anything else that needs saving. we all take turns a week at a time. i might drop off the face of the cliff that is tbaoo because of this community minded extravagance, so if there’s a hole in your silly, sneery, obtuse, ridiculous, fatuous readings, you’ll know why, in fact i was so premature in my excitement last night, i didn’t even write a post. i even woke up an hour early today i was that excited. still didn’t post.

i’m keenly distracted today by the amount of technology i’ve been given to conduct this week long and edgy on call shift. i have a nokia, blackberry 9700 ( my own iphone 4 ) two folders ( both packed with goodies ) and when it returns from the “it boffins” a laptop. you’d think i’m offering tech support, but actually i’m tasked with identifying, penalising, rectifying, removing, cleaning up all sorts of shit that happens, all the while talking and listening to all sorts of interesting ( some might say moronic ) citizens. give me a call, after hours and i get paid a fortune for it, ring a few times, but don’t ring while i’m asleep, i might tell you to “soorf”  i wish they’d pay me to tell people to soorf” ( that means piss off ) then i’d be able to buy my mercedes a lot sooner. let’s say a cl 600 !!

things will be exciting here, there’s a car race and associated concerts, noise issues, loud noise issues, drunk noise issues, noisy rubbish issues, noisy pollution and noisy people running about every bloody noisy where. if you like fast v8 cars, fast women in varying degrees of nakedness, fast drunks of all sorts, fast police in record numbers, then you’d better come on over. just don’t make a noise !!

another fatntastic thing that has caught my eye is this very clever promotion, as right clicked from the open source abc website:

Now & Then is a photography project exploring the evolving history of Australian places and people. We’ve been inspired by the flickr group, Looking Into the Past and how a single image framed in a new one can ignite our imaginations and open a door to the past.

If you’ve got a camera and access to old photographs, we’d love to see what you can do.  Pictures that work best generally are details of places, buildings and often people – in short, they tell a story, and holding them in the new image takes the story on.

So now it’s up to you to take this idea and give it an Australian setting. Then sit back see what interesting stories and images emerge from around the country. It’s a fun technique and it also gives your hands a chance to shine!

please go here, they’re absolutely amazing !!

i’m not that old, so i don’t have any photos that are able to be included, although i could get a photo of my face and put it against my handsome smiling dial ( circa 2010 ) and see what that looks like .. what a great idea and it don’t make any noise.
