i haven’t offered anything substantial ( ? ) for some time now ….. and as i sit here wondering why , i realise that i don’t really have anything substantial to say other than to offer snide, sneering, lurid and cheeky obsevations of the stupid things i see going on around me. believe me dear reader, there is huge big mobs of that going on.
some ( not many actually ) have asked why don’t i run for our soon to be hotly contested council elections. ha, why would any sane person decide to put themselves up for complete ridicule, angst, frustration, idiotic feedback and requests from the great unwashed. have you met a senior citizen, or rampant moral crusader ( insert variant here ) at a local afternoon tea, or opening of a new postcard sized piece of park, they’d drive you freak’n mad.
is it only an ego thing ? yes they earn more money than me and have very limited power, but considering the hours and responsibility they strive for and then regret, why in flutes name would they put themselves through that. you can probably sense a list coming on dear reader, you might be right. i’ll work on it.
in the meantime here’s some very serious background from an english perspective, not far removed from the australian situation in council, state or federal politics.

I think anyone who does not wanna be in politics should. And the useless sods that do should never be allowed. Bring in a lottery for MP’s you have to do it if you get the lucky number, surely we could do no worse?
