my pipes are blocked{13}

i’ve been wandering about in my rain sodden back yard, wandering about in my warm snug pyjamas with some keen patio builder type gentlemen. i’m also going to have to ring a plumbing company to get another person round to fix my blocked pipes.

not my personal pipes of course, i wee like a man with a minuscule bladder – and i wee a lot. no, this is the result of a blockage somewhere in the storm water system and needs attention. it’s probably ( read most definitely has ) needed attention for some time, but like i always do, i put it off and didn’t think that much about it. until it becomes a real problem.

i’ve also a leaking roof that has demanded my immediate attention. the builder (s), plumber, concreter types are going to build and attach a patio, while the other man is arranged ( if he ever calls me back ) to fix my leaking roof and damaged ceiling. so overdue it’s embarrassing, but it is going to happen and i hope it’s going to happen soon.

i’m surprised by the somewhat unique quoting process, the tradesman arrives, announces an “umm” and an “arrg”, measures things and then pop – out pops a price, with advice. the pop level varies according to the nature of the poppie. the whole process is time consuming and in my life at the moment, a huge hassle, i.e. coordinating time off work, after hours, during hours, weekends, they are very accommodating, but it does take some negotiation.

i’ve chosen the patio man and his referred concreter and will locate a plumber person this week to do my pipes. if it ever stops raining i’ll coordinate commencement of the work. it might be done in two stages. my supply of money is a bit like my pipes, a bit blocked and not flowing quite freely. be rest assured, there is some getting through.

so to celebrate this millstone in home maintenance and renovation, i’ve found a tune to jump about to. my aim here is to distract myself from the many thousands of dollars this extravagance is going to cost. necessary, overdue, much needed, but shit it’s a lot of money.
