life in the animal world of politics, or is it magnetism attracting politics – lies all lies.

keep the fear alive or remain sane {4}

just to make it clear, i’m sad that i cannot attend the stephen colbert “keep the fear alive” rally, or even the jon stewart’s “restore sanity rally” - check them out, get updates and promote the be-hovers out of them ..

some could say, well tbaoo does … it’s america’s only hope, it’s sensible political debate disguised as humour.

it’s not the end it’s the beginning {5}

tbaoo can’t possibly be the source of objective news reporting, so i have to rely upon others – hopefully objective. the abc, australia’s national broadcaster is the place to start. i’ve searched my warped brain to pontificate about the delayed result, the players and now the result, i can’t, except to say i’m happy with it and look forward to the groundbreaking changes to the way the parliament will work and the application of the hard lessons learnt by the labor government.

kevin 07 tried too much, too soon and broke the cart in a major way, forget about the horse, the cart itself was broken beyond repair and that’s why he was dumped upon. he had tremendous ideas, worked everybody to near death and blustered his way around with “in hindsight” disastrous results.

Labor clings to power

By online political correspondent Emma Rodgers - Updated 2 hours 21 minutes ago … at abc 24

Independents Tony Windsor and Rob Oakeshott have broken Australia’s political deadlock by agreeing to back Julia Gillard in a Labor minority government.

After more than a fortnight of suspense, Mr Oakeshott and Mr Windsor today revealed their intention to give Labor their crucial votes, meaning it has secured the 76 seats needed to rule.

Their decision came hot on the heels of Bob Katter, who earlier confirmed he would back the Coalition, putting it on 74 seats.

Ms Gillard is due to speak at 4:15pm (AEST) about the deal she clinched with Mr Windsor and Mr Oakeshott which will see her continue on as prime minister.

Fronting the media this afternoon both men explained their reasoning for backing Labor.

Mr Windsor said Labor’s National Broadband Network and position on climate change were major factors in his decision, as well as a feeling that if he supported the Coalition it would rush to the polls.

He also made a plea to his conservative constituents not to turn away from a Labor government.

“This is about using the political system to advantage the people we represent,” he said.

Mr Oakeshott said he considered who could form a more stable government, who had a better deal for the bush and who could work best with a Greens-dominated Senate when coming to his final position.

And he revealed that an offer of a ministry position had been made, but he would not confirm by which side and whether he would take up any offer.

Labor has promised a regional package as part of the deal, but the two men did not outline specific details, instead leaving that to Ms Gillard.

“I’m confirming for the Governor-General of Australia that today I will do what I’ve always done, ironically, and give confidence and supply to government and in effect that means confidence and supply in Julia Gillard,” he said.

“This is going to be a cracking Parliament. It’s going to be beautiful in its ugliness.”

Mr Oakeshott’s and Mr Windsor’s decision to swing behind Labor is a bitter blow for Opposition Leader Tony Abbott, who came closer than anyone expected to winning the election. In recent days he pleaded with the country trio not to forget their conservative roots.

Having spent just three weeks in the job before she called the election, Ms Gillard has narrowly avoided becoming one of the shortest-serving prime ministers in Australian history and instead will lead Labor to govern in the country’s 43rd Parliament.

When it sits, the new Parliament will be subjected a major overhaul, as brokered by the independents.

Question Time will be revamped, an independent speaker will be installed and there will be new powers for committees.

Today’s decision comes 17 days after the federal election resulted in the loss of a swag of Labor seats in Queensland and New South Wales and left both major parties short of a majority for the first time since World War II.

Mr Oakeshott and Mr Windsor join newly elected independent MP Andrew Wilkie and Greens MP Adam Bandt in pledging their support for a Labor minority government.

Parliament is unlikely to sit for several weeks until the results from the election are finalised by the Australian Electoral Commission and the writs are returned.

..

the prime minister is dead – long live the prime minister

by way of light relief, here’s the election campaign ad for bob katter, the only one of the 3 twinklers that decided to provide his support to the conservative coalition. things will really be exciting over the next three years of the new labor government.

tbaoo is banging on again {0}

warning dear reader, my favourite nemesis, or indeed someone i loathe with a passion has made the headlines again. if i could bring myself to hate someone ( strong words i know ) i would put fred nile in that category. in fact he’d be the only one in it, sarah p, glen beck and others are just an amusing distraction, well ok, maybe not “just” but they are a bit further away. when i lived at home ( i still consider sydney home ) this self righteous individual, Reverend the Hon. (Fred) Frederick John NILE, ED LTh MLC ….

( far from honourable ) used to barge his way into the bedrooms, televisions, radio and life in general, of sydney residents, of course he thought had a mandate giving to him by his god. he is sadly deluded, ( aren’t most religious fanatics ? ) yet he remains in the nsw state parliament .. who the fuck votes for him ??? it seems like he’s been there for 200 years ?

his opposition to those heathens living in sydney held no bounds, if you’re gay, lesbian, trans gender, muslim, heterosexual, male, female, old, young, fat or thin .. he has a hatred for all the naughty things you may consider being involved in, like living your life. it’s none of his business of course , but there he is, sticking his big ugly beak into the affairs others, all the bloody time.

now as you can plainly gather from this bitter outpouring of “i don’t like him”, he’s not on the tbaoo xmas list ( yes deliberately spelt that way, dear reader ) and now provides me with some deep seated biological joy at his recent troubles .. the best place to keep in touch with this knight of christian values and targeted hatred of others, is at wotnews  >>>

now if you’ve a lifetime ahead of you, with no rigid prejudice that would prevent it .. check out the pages and pages of stupid comment, dangerous hate mongering ( wow that’s strong ) and other juicy stuff. if you do a google search for him it becomes most entertaining !!

the original reason for this post, gee i’ve gone on a bit ain’t i, well it’s the richly beautiful story that his parliamentary computer has been used to visit pornographic websites !! shock  horror .. fantastic news. in fact another state parliamentarian paul mcleay, just resigned his post for porn and gambling browsing ( i know which i like best, i keep coming back for more, double or nothing ), the state labor government is just a joke, they have more disgraced pollies kicked out than left in office, so many in fact they’re going to have to recycle them, i.e. which was guilty of the lesser transgressions, let’s bring them back first. oh dear.

here’s an interesting taste of what’s making the papers , i’ll start with this most recent one, the parliamentary audit might declare tbaoo as pornographic.. fuck no !!

Sex party calls for Nile’s resignation

Isabel Hayes - September 2, 2010

even though i know it’s probably fleeting, it’s great – i love it, bring on more. let’s suggest that those sharing my distaste for those interfering in the lives of sensible law abiding and loving ( did i just say that ? ) citizens, keep this material for future use and not just those like me who rant away like free thinking loonies in blogs. print it all off and send it to fred anytime he has an outburst about us who live on the outside of his glass walled temple.

p.s. today the bride returns and i went shopping to fill in the embarrassing holes left by my vague shopping attempts, low and behold i get back well pleased, nobody flirted with me or made the trip difficult, but i realised why when i got home .. i’d gone out and wandered around with my fly open the entire time .. hurry up my bride please set me straight.

the arizona governor is dumb {1}

the regular reader of tbaoo will notice a thread of “loving to hate american politics”. this gem of public speaking gone wrong and sheer wrong person for the job examples below just make me cringe. imagine if you will for a minute, that this person, who initiated the it’s illegal to be an illegal so we’ll stop, search, harass and vilify any people that “may” be an illegal, was your elected representative ?

the fact that this hastily crafted nonsense simply targets one race, colour, choice of clothes, music or name of peoples living, visiting or even holidaying in arizona, this should strike fear in the hearts of civil rights proponents and normal everyday humans around the world. think for a minute that this sort of law now applies in your neighbourhood, just change the definitions to say asian, indian,muslim or jewish people and bingo you’re fucked .. this woman is in charge !!

here’s what happened when she came out, happy, incredibly well toothed, blonde ? and dim …
