a solar system {17}
i have a confession to make to you dear reader, but you may have already realised the fact that i love documentaries .. any topic, but it has to take my fancy. the most recent one which will help illustrate this joy, was a documentary on sex robots !! there is sub culture waiting on their creation, while they wait well, you can guess what they’re doing ?
so down a completely different path we have my really, really favourite young documentary maker/host, the amazingly excited professor brian cox .. learn about physics, learn about our planet, it’s role in our solar system and soon it’s place in the universe.
there are some, like creationists, those who think that mankind has only been about for around 6,000 years, those that deny that the theory of evolution is the key to understanding how we and the rest of the planet’s occupants are the way we are today. it’s very sad, but these people won’t like this scientifically based, sensible, clever, real and passionate explantion of events.
it’s a theory which is continually being scientifically tested and even though “they’ll” never agree .. confirmed and expanded upon. here is a quote that prof cox used to open this wonderful series….
We live on a world of wonders. A place of astonishing beauty and complexity. We have vast oceans and incredible weather. Giant mountains and breathtaking landscapes. If you think that this is all there is, that our planet exists in magnificent isolation, then you’re wrong. As a physicist I am fascinated by how the laws of nature that shaped all this also shaped the worlds beyond our home planet. I think we are living through the greatest age of discovery our civilisation has known… ( Professor Brian Cox’s opening narration )
